FAQs
What is the difference between introspection and self-inquiry
Self-inquiry and introspection differ mainly in their focus: self-inquiry investigates the source of the "I" to realize one's true, unchanging nature, while introspection (self-reflection/analysis) examines personal thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to improve psychological understanding. Self-inquiry dissolves the ego, whereas introspection manages it.
What is Agency?
Agency refers to the capacity of an individual or entity to make independent choices, exert power, and act intentionally to influence their environment or future. It represents a sense of control over one's life, rather than being passively driven by external forces.
What is Self-Leadership?
Self-leadership is the practice of intentionally influencing your own thinking, feelings, and actions to achieve personal or professional goals. It involves self-awareness, self-motivation, and self-direction—essentially acting as the captain of your own life to build resilience, increase performance, and foster authenticity.
What is MetaCognition?
Metacognition is commonly defined as "thinking about one's own thinking" or an awareness and understanding of one's own cognitive processes. It involves actively planning, monitoring, and evaluating one's learning or problem-solving strategies to improve efficiency and performance.
How is life coaching different from therapy?
Therapy focuses on healing, resolving past trauma, and treating mental health conditions, often looking backward to understand the present, and is performed by licensed professionals. Coaching is future-focused, targeting goal setting, personal growth, and action plans to improve performance. Therapy fixes dysfunction, while coaching builds from functionality to thriving.
What is Life Coaching?
Personal coaching is a collaborative, one-on-one partnership designed to help individuals define personal or professional goals, overcome obstacles, and accelerate growth. Coaches use structured conversations, active listening, and powerful questions to empower clients to identify their own solutions and take action, acting as a catalyst for life improvement, often called life coaching, mentoring, or professional coaching.
